What's included in the Payroll patch?
Changes in Payroll 8.0.7
  • New 941: There are additions to the Form 941 Hire Act features.
Once you've downloaded and installed the patch, you should reload the state tables (by clicking "Load Latest Table" in the State Taxes screen), if you process payroll for one of the states with changes. Refer to "Loading 2010 Tax Tables.pdf", under the Help menu in the program, for information on loading state tax tables.
Changes in Payroll 8.0.6
  • New Data Field: We have added a new field to indicate an employee who is qualified for the HIRE act. Click the Employees button and the Taxes tab. If you have a qualified employee, click "Qualified" in the HIRE Act section.
  • New 941: There is a change to the 941 setup window and there is a new 941 form. If you have a HIRE qualified employee and need further instructions for the new 941, please download and read the 941 HIRE Instructions.pdf under the Help menu after installing the 8.0.6 patch.
  • Emailing Paychecks: The paycheck email feature was revised to work with Windows Outlook and most email programs.
  • Arizona: There are new state withholding tables for AZ.
  • New York: Users can electronically submit NY state tax reports using the NYMMREF option. Find it under the State Taxes button.
  • The Maximum SUTA Wages for Florida, Hawaii, and Indiana changed earlier in 2010 and those employers should already have the correct maximum values. To confirm the values you are using, click the State Tax Values button and click on FL, HI or IN. Florida should be 7000, Hawaii should be 34900, and Indiana should be 7000.
  • If your state tax or SUTA maximum has changed, you need to reload your state tax tables after installing the patch. Refer to Loading Tax Tables.pdf under the Help menu.

  • 2010 version of Federal Form 941

  • Local tax W2 totals now include added YTD values.
